API Lead

API Lead Location: Kochi (Work from Office 5 Days) Reports To: Technical Program Managers Overview We are hiring an API Lead to design, develop, and manage enterprise-scale APIs/microservices, providing technical leadership and ensuring best practices. Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver secure, high-availability APIs. Define scalable data models and logical API designs. Prepare detailed technical documentation. Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters for backlog/user story management. Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Own full project lifecycle, from requirement analysis to production. Lead/mentor developers, perform reviews, and enforce coding standards. Build prototypes/POCs for emerging technologies. Evaluate tools, frameworks, and third-party products. Collaborate with frontend teams for API integration. Requirements 8+ years API/microservices development, with enterprise experience. Strong Java/Spring Boot expertise. Proven experience in REST API development. Solid knowledge of microservices/event-driven design. Proficiency in relational NoSQL DBs. API management tools expertise (Azure API Mgmt, Kong, Apigee). Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, GCP). Docker/Kubernetes expertise. TDD (JUnit) and CI/CD pipeline experience. Agile methodology familiarity. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Nice to Have Airline/Aviation industry experience. Node.js, GraphQL, gRPC exposure. Experience with large-scale distributed systems/AI-ML. Observability tools (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, etc.). Serverless architecture experience. IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, Pulumi).
