Role Description The Appeals role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The professional in this role reviews and analyzes WC denied or underpaid claims, prepares accurate and timely appeals, and follows up with insurance payers to resolve discrepancies and secure appropriate reimbursement. Daily responsibilities include interpreting payer policies, documenting appeal rationale, updating claim status in internal systems, and coordinating with billing and AR teams to reduce denials and improve collections. The role also involves maintaining detailed records, meeting productivity and quality targets, and communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Strong knowledge of workers comp medical billing, insurance AR follow-ups, denial management, eligibility verification, and payment posting. Understanding of US healthcare revenue cycle processes, including payer guidelines, CPT/ICD coding basics, and claim adjudication workflows. Attention to detail with the ability to analyze claim data, identify denial trends, and draft clear, persuasive appeal letters. Proficiency with medical billing software, practice management systems, and standard office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, documentation tools). Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and, where applicable, payer representatives. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle high volumes of claims and meet deadlines consistently. Ability to work on-site in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and collaborate in a team-based, process-driven environment. Preferred: Prior experience in RCM, medical billing, or appeals; familiarity with psychiatry, orthopedic, chiropractic, or primary care billing; and a diploma or degree in commerce, healthcare administration, or a related field. .
