Overview
As a Software Engineer in the A2A RS Operations team, reporting to the Director, your role involves:
- Building automatic monitoring tools for complex, data science-based microservice deployments. This includes ensuring that models effectively detect fraud and money laundering, predict future trends accurately, and provide valuable economic insights.
- Collaborating with Data Scientists to gather data and train models for improving service accuracy and reducing unnecessary alerts.
- Working closely with Engineers to develop resilient microservices that are self-healing and adhere to operational best practices.
- Engaging with various technology stacks in the UK and internationally.
- Utilizing Incident Management processes and automating tasks while integrating with Mastercard's ticketing systems.
- Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders, collaborators, as well as technical and business functions within client organizations.
Your qualifications and experience should include:
- A passion for building robust services that address critical issues in the financial services industry. You should enjoy teamwork and have an interest in deploying advanced algorithms as product offerings.
- Enthusiasm for adopting new technologies and development approaches within an enterprise environment. Detail-oriented nature with a willingness to write and review code.
- Experience of at least 1 year in software development, data science, devops, operations, or related fields.
- Comfort in interacting with diverse stakeholders, such as subject matter experts, data scientists, software engineers, and enterprise devops and security professionals.
- Proficiency in Python and Go programming languages or a willingness to learn.
- Strong understanding of traditional data warehousing, including SQL proficiency and optimization of large relational databases.
- Familiarity with modern service design practices, such as containerization, container orchestration, streaming data platforms, APIs, and in-memory/NoSQL stores.
