The RoleOpenTrain is recruiting an Applied Physics Benchmark Reviewer and Author to create and assess high-quality academic content used to evaluate AI capabilities. You will work with challenging multiple-choice questions spanning semiconductor physics, nanoelectronics, spintronics, photonics, quantum optics, quantum sensing, plasma physics, nonlinear dynamics, turbulence, geophysics, and reservoir simulation.
The role combines doctoral-level subject expertise with careful judgment about whether each question is accurate, self-contained, unambiguous, rigorous, and solvable. This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity requiring 20 or more hours per week, with compensation of $61 to $77 per hour.

Your work will include both original question authoring and detailed review of existing material.
For each question, you will make the intended solution and evaluation standard clear while documenting the reasoning behind corrections and edits.
Author original physics questions that test conceptual understanding rather than surface-level recall.Review questions for accuracy, clarity, completeness, precision, and solvability.Edit questions when technical or presentation issues are identified.Rate questions as medium, hard, or expert based on expected academic level.Develop one correct answer and nine plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives.Prepare clear step-by-step solutions with concise intermediate steps.Provide one to five references per question from peer-reviewed journals or university repositories.Document the reasoning behind corrections and edits made during verification.RequirementsThis role requires advanced physics training and the ability to distinguish subtle technical errors in demanding academic content. Doctoral-level physics preparation is central to the work, even though the opportunity is classified as entry level.
You should be able to communicate complex ideas precisely in written English and apply mathematical formalism accurately when authoring or reviewing questions.
