Job Description
Entry-level position for recent graduates eager to kickstart their career in software development. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior developers, contributing to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of our enterprise-level applications. Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications using Java.
Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles in daily coding tasks.
Write and optimize basic SQL queries for database interaction.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of scripts for automation or data processing.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging processes.
Collaborate with team members to understand project requirements and specifications.
Document technical designs, code, and procedures as required.
Learn and adapt to new technologies and development methodologies.
Adhere to Highmark's coding standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Demonstrated understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. Solid foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with Java. Familiarity with basic SQL queries and database concepts. Basic understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell Scripting, JavaScript). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Eagerness to learn and grow within a fast-paced technology landscape.
Preferred Skills (Not Required, but a plus): Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Exposure to integrated development environments (IDEs) like IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse. Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC). Any project experience (academic or personal) showcasing development skills. .
