01Overview
Responsibilities
- Accurately obtain patient demographic from face sheets, facilities or patient calls.
- Validate and verify the medical insurance plans of patients.
- Digitize patients data, EHR, and Nextgen billing system.
- File documents regarding patient records
- Works with at least 50 patients per day
- Adhere to all HIPAA guidelines during facility, payer, and/or patient communication.
- Keeps up to date with healthcare practices, laws, and regulations related to insurance requirements and types of plans.
- Prioritizes work and manages time effectively to meet set requirements made by the manager.
- Reports any technical issues or unavailability of tools and or resources required to meet and surpass required productivity and quality
- Report any accounts incorrectly added to assigned task(s) for correction to management.
- Assists with other administrative tasks as needed
- Ability to analyze unique scenarios and determine the correct action.
- Proactive thinking and analytical skills
- Other duties may be assigned
Requirement
- Minimum of 3 years experience in medical insurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD10 and HIPAA regulations
- Computer Skills/Proficiency using EMR and other software programs such as MS Word, Excel, and online payer portals
- Must have valuable oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively both on the phone and in person.
- Must be willing to adapt or adjust to accommodate the inflow of tasks and projects
- Must be extremely organized, highly motivated self-starter with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Must be detail oriented to ensure all the details are done correctly the first time around.
- Ability to multitask and navigate between platforms is a must.
- Ability to act ethically and within the guidelines of company compliance policies and code of conduct
- Ability to meet daily production goals and other tasks and metrics as assigned.
- Ability to follow all company policies and procedures
