Key Responsibilities
Transport Procurement & Sourcing
Identify, evaluate, and onboard transport vendorsFloat RFQs/RFPs and conduct commercial negotiationsEnsure competitive freight rates and benchmarkingDevelop long-term vendor relationships
Vendor Management
Monitor vendor performance and KPIsEnsure compliance with agreements and SLAsHandle issue resolution and escalation managementDrive vendor rationalization and consolidation
Cost Optimization
Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunitiesImprove route optimization and vehicle utilizationTrack market trends and transport benchmarks
Contract Management
Draft and finalize transport agreements and rate contractsEnsure adherence to contractual termsSupport contract renewals and amendments
Operations Coordination
Coordinate with operations and planning teamsEnsure vehicle availability and placementResolve transportation delays and service issues
Data & Reporting
Prepare MIS reports and performance dashboardsTrack KPIs and operational metricsUse ERP/TMS systems for reporting and analytics
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure transport compliance and documentationMonitor insurance, permits, and statutory requirementsIdentify operational risks and implement mitigation plans
Required Skills
Strong negotiation and commercial acumenKnowledge of transportation and fleet operationsVendor management and stakeholder coordinationAnalytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Excel, MIS, ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning), and TMS(Transport Management Systems) systems.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.48 years of experience in transport procurement, logistics sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain operations.Experience in freight procurement and transportation contracts preferred.
