Role Overview
You are being hired as an Assistant Manager / Manager at BNP Paribas India Solutions, specifically in the GM Front Office OPC/RPC department located in Chennai. Your primary responsibility will be to establish, deploy, and manage the Governance & Control Frameworks related to Sanctions & Embargoes impacting Global Markets Front as required by regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Help enhance the front to back regulatory control framework by investigating regulatory incidents, writing incident reports, designing remediations, and ensuring follow-up on actions.
- Prepare regulatory governance committees, including producing KPIs and drafting governance documentation, with initial focus areas on short selling, onboarding of new trading venues, and best execution.
- Assess and document the APAC regulatory landscape for capital markets activities, challenge the effectiveness of GM control setup against regulatory risks, propose and implement improvements.
- Maintain the GM control plan from a front to back perspective, perform mapping with Functions Global Control Plan, execute regulatory controls, report results, investigate breaches, and follow-up with stakeholders for closure.
- Possess regulatory background knowledge, controls proficiency, data analysis skills, written presentation skills, analytical skills, and administrative skills to perform database administration tasks.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a top-tier financial institution in a controls team and/or within the regulatory space.
- Experience with Capital markets and demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems independently while building quality relationships with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in drafting and presenting PowerPoint presentations on a regular basis.
- Master's Degree or equivalent education level with at least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
