Role Overview
The Divisional Risk and Control Specialist - Data Analyst is responsible for delivering specific aspects of the risk and control strategy for a sub-division. This includes reviewing, mining, enriching control inventory data for management of information and reporting. Understanding operational processes for monitoring risk and control activities, risk-based control reporting of key issues, performance, and validation of cyclical activities such as certification, annual control self-assessments. It would also include supporting control assurance, incident research, remediation monitoring, and other ad hoc control initiatives and projects. The Divisional Risk and Control Specialist - Data Analyst will liaise with other risk and control functions on a management level to assure the integration of risk initiatives and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and validate data to create standardized reports. Analyse resulting large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI, etc. to present actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel: Use advanced Excel functions (e.g., Power Query, PivotTables, VBA, array formulas) to manipulate and analyze data efficiently.
- Statistical Analysis: Run statistical analysis or predictive modeling to arrive at informed business decisions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. Work with the internal team and stakeholders to frame business questions and prioritize business needs.
- Data Quality: Monitor data quality, identify areas for improvement, and implement data governance policies ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms.
- Data Mining: Data Classification, Clustering for Improved Decision Making.
- Data Governance: Track data origin, processing, and movement to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Delivery and Tracking: Non-Financial Risk deliverables, status, and issues.
- Findings Management: Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Automation: Automate recurring reporting tasks and optimize data workflows.
- Trigger Driven Data Analysis: Support ad hoc analysis and business intelligence initiatives.
Qualification Required:
- 11 years of proven experience in Data Management, Mining, Analysis, Reporting & Visualization, and Governance.
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc) - strong excel skills required.
- SharePoint Power BI, Excel Macro, and VB Scripting.
- Tableau knowledge will be a plus.
- Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships with global stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written articulation.
