Job Description

Role Overview

You will be joining the newly formed Core Risk Analytics team within the Core Risk Management (Core RM) group at BlackRock. Your role will involve working closely with Investment Risk Managers and other teams across the globe to solve business problems through data analytics, automation, and technology solutions. As a technical specialist, you will be responsible for developing scalable analytics reporting capabilities, delivering risk scanning algorithms, and upholding Core Risk Analytics processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop scalable analytics reporting capabilities to meet risk reporting needs across multiple investment risk teams. - Design and deliver risk scanning algorithms in collaboration with Investment Risk and Core Risk Oversight. - Uphold Core Risk Analytics processes and procedures including coding standard methodologies and scalable Python coding. - Collaborate with Core RM leaders to build relationships with investment risk leads and technology partners globally. - Drive efficiency and capacity-building initiatives, including automation and standardization efforts across the risk platform.

Qualifications Required

- High emotional ownership, motivation, dedication to excellence, and positive approach to business challenges. - Deep experience in building Python-based solutions to solve business problems. - Ability to understand diverse requirements and deliver on key priorities. - Willingness to challenge processes, propose solutions, and communicate effectively. - Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management. - 4 years of experience in an Engineering/Financial Engineering division in a financial services firm. - Degree in an engineering subject area. - Programming (Python, SQL etc.) and data analytics expertise. - Experience working within Agile frameworks. - Experience with PowerBI and/or Tableau. - Prior experience with R, R-Shiny and/or VBA is a plus.
