01Responsibilities
- Partner with appropriate stakeholders across the company to assess software and architectural complexity, estimate data and infrastructure needs, plan capacity, develop program plans and timelines for ongoing and future platform initiatives. You will think holistically about technical initiatives and partner with product, engineering and architecture teams to think through all business requirements, capabilities needed and dependencies to be resolved
- Work with teams to set program milestones and communicate risks, progress and launch readiness across all stakeholders and teams frequently and transparently including retrospectives to learn from. You are able to identify potential technical risks and facilitate discussions to surface and plan mitigation strategies. You can lead technology-focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisions
- Be a valued technical leader in an autonomous agile department, within Marriott Cloud solutions department, and Marriott in general
- Lead the technical vision and long-term technology strategy for Marriott infrastructure
- Work with engineering leaders across the Platform division and Marriott to enable large-scale collaboration on application initiatives
- Lead, advise and support the engineering areas that comprise the layers of applications design, develop and operationalize stack in public cloud
- Maintain senior stakeholder relationships across the full core infrastructure offering with our cloud vendors to ensure our needs as a customer are surfaced and prioritized
- Support the Marriott-wide backend developer community, influencing and driving architecture and engineering practice across the company
- Enable learning and knowledge sharing across the organization, leveling up our engineering practices and mentoring other specialists.
- Initiate, influence, and drive technical projects across teams within Marriott
- Acquire deep knowledge of the MI solutions and services, technical cloud roadmap for converting these product and services to Cloud and identify key areas of competitive
- differentiation Refine the structure in response to client feedback and new information obtained (continuous service improvement)
- Develop and communicate a point of view on complex technical topics. Aligns multiple domains, both technical and non-technical, on this common vision
- Create and articulate an innovative and compelling value proposition so that MI executives clearly realize the benefits and transformational value of migrating to a Public Cloud solution
IT Governance:
- Follow all defined IT standards and processes and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
- Maintain a proper balance between business and operational risk
- Follow the defined project management standards and processes
Service Provider Management:
- Own outcomes of the aligned Service Provider team inclusive of project delivery and operations
- Make short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources
- Facilitate timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact clients
Managing Projects and Priorities:
- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and direct reports.
