01Responsibilities
Identify promising early-stage enterprises aligned with Upayas mission through proactive sourcing, networking, and partnerships; conduct financial, operational, and impact due diligence, including deep dives into market, product, team, and scalability; design key indicators that best capture the financial and social performance of Upaya's portfolio, conduct real-time analysis, and assist with visualization and external reporting; review financial statements of portfolio partners and report key performance metrics and trends across categories. Qualifications & Skills: Master's degree preferred (MBA, Master's in Finance or Accounting, or another relevant postgraduate degree in finance) but not required; proficiency in financial statement analysis, financial modelling, and core financial analysis skills. 4-8 years of post-qualification work experience as a finance professional in an investment fund / investment banking / financing company / consulting; impact investing experience an advantage. Experience analysing companies and business models required. Excellent analytical and organization skills; high proficiency in MS Excel (Google Sheets a plus); strong relationship building skills with early-stage entrepreneurs; strong written and verbal English communication; comfortable with travel to partner locations including north-eastern states of India and impoverished communities.
