Role Description The Authorization and Insurance Verification Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Delhi Area. This position is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, confirming eligibility and benefits, and obtaining prior authorizations for medical services and procedures. The specialist reviews clinical information and payer requirements, communicates with insurance companies, providers, and patients to resolve coverage issues, and documents all verification and authorization activities accurately in the system.
Daily tasks include managing authorization queues, following up on pending requests, addressing denials related to eligibility or authorization, and collaborating with billing and coding teams to support clean claims submission. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of payer policies, ensuring compliance with client guidelines, and delivering professional, timely customer service.
Qualifications
Strong insurance verification and prior authorization skills, including experience reviewing eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements.Solid understanding of medical terminology and basic knowledge of healthcare billing or revenue cycle processes.Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, documentation, and record keeping.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple cases, and meet turnaround times and productivity targets.Proficiency with healthcare practice management systems, insurance portals, and standard office software.Prior experience in authorization, insurance verification, or related healthcare operations roles is preferred.Relevant education such as a diploma or degree in healthcare administration, billing, or a related field is beneficial. .
