Overview
As an Automation Developer at Smart Working, your role involves designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions to enhance efficiency across business operations. You will collaborate with engineering and business teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions using scripting, APIs, and automation platforms. Your responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining automation workflows using front-end automation, scripted automation, and API integrations
- Developing automation solutions with Python and modern automation tools
- Connecting disparate systems to automate manual processes and enhance operational efficiency
- Designing integrations between platforms using APIs and workflow orchestration tools
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate them into technical solutions
- Maintaining and improving existing automation solutions for reliability, scalability, and performance
- Contributing to documentation and best practices for automation across the engineering team
- Supporting finance automation projects by connecting finance systems to automate manual workflows
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- Strong experience with Python for scripting, automation, and integrations
- Previous experience in building and maintaining automation workflows across business systems
- Familiarity with API integrations and system-to-system communication
- Knowledge of automation design patterns and workflow optimization
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and a reliable execution mindset when delivering automation solutions
Nice to have qualifications include experience with AI-assisted automation platforms, familiarity with RPA solutions like Blue Prism, proficiency with workflow orchestration platforms such as n8n, exposure to building automation solutions connecting finance or operational systems, and interest in expanding automation capabilities using AI-driven automation or low-code platforms.
