WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience in employee benefits, including Health and Wellness, Retirement, and or Leave Administration, within the financial services industry or other highly regulated industry
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, e.g., ERISA, Section 125, DOL Regulations, Commuter Benefits, HSAs, Plan Document and Summary Plan Description Administration, FSAs, COBRA and etc.
Familiarity with relevant benefit-type offerings, terminology, tools, etc.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
Advanced knowledge of benefits principles and practices, program competitiveness, market comparisons of programs, and analysis and reporting of benefits data
Advanced knowledge of broad regulatory compliance and legal requirements of benefits programs and structures
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to listen to and analyze issues encountered through multiple channels
Experience with HR information systems and benefits-related technology including third party reporting requirements
Advanced skills with standard desktop applications, including MS Excel and Word
Proficient in gathering and collating benefits-related market and competitive intelligence
Ability to interpret and analyze benefits market data to assess: comparable worth; benchmarking; internal alignment; external competitiveness
Understanding of retirement planning and benefits: pension plans; savings plans; disability insurance; employee assistance programs (EAPs); flexible schedule; health and financial wellness programs
Experience implementing and tracking relevant benefits metrics and benchmarks
Basic accounting and financial knowledge, including familiarity with benefit plans financial statement audits

RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports oversight and administration of a variety of cost-effective benefits programs (e.g., retirement, health and wellness, leave programs) by reviewing and responding to employee inquiries, supporting vendor relationships and third party management programs, monitoring regulatory compliance and required communications, and project management of low to moderate complexity projects
Provides guidance to managers, HR business partners and employees on benefits questions, issues and claims
Resolves participant inquiries and escalated benefit issues based on independent analysis of plan provisions and applicable laws. Escalates as appropriate
Develops and implements project plans and timelines for annual enrollment and other low to moderate complexity projects
Identifies internal and cross functional process improvement opportunities and recommends solutions
Serves as a point of contact for vendors and internal vendor management partners
Stays abreast of industry best practices
