To be successful as a AVP - Cyber Security you should have experience with:
Extensive experience in Cyber Security with a strong background in Detection Engineering, Threat Detection, Security Operations, Threat Hunting, or Incident Response.Hands-on experience developing, testing, tuning and maintaining high-fidelity detections across SIEM, EDR and security monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Defender and Tanium.Strong understanding of adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.Experience managing the end-to-end detection lifecycle, including design, development, validation, deployment, tuning and periodic review of detections.Proven ability to reduce false positives and improve detection coverage through effective tuning and data-driven analysis.Experience producing high-quality documentation, implementation standards and operational guidance for Security Operations teams.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, Incident Response, Security Engineering and SOC teams.Experience conducting peer reviews, providing technical guidance and mentoring junior Detection Engineers.Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

Experience working within a global Detection Engineering or Cyber Operations function.Knowledge of detection engineering automation, CI/CD practices and detection lifecycle management processes.Experience with Threat Hunting, Purple Teaming, Adversary Emulation and Attack Simulation exercises.Familiarity with cloud security monitoring and detection use cases across Azure, AWS or GCP environments.Experience with Jira, Confluence and Agile delivery methodologies.Understanding of regulatory, audit and risk management requirements within a financial services environment.Experience defining detection metrics, reporting detection effectiveness and supporting continual service improvement initiatives.Industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, Security+ or equivalent.

Purpose of the role
To monitor the performance of operational controls, implement and manage security controls and consider lessons learnt in order to protect the bank from potential cyber-attacks and respond to threats.
Accountabilities
Management of security monitoring systems, including intrusive prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect and block potential cyber security incidents, and provide a prompt response to restore normal operations with minimised system damage.Identification of emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques and technologies to detect/prevent incidents, and collaborate with networks and conferences to gain industry knowledge and expertise.Management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate and analyse security logs, events and alerts/potential threats.Triage of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data for being exfiltrated from the banks network.Management of cyber security incidents including remediation & driving to closure.
