Role & Responsibilities
- Assist in bioinformatics and NGS data analysis projects.
- Perform basic analysis of RNA-seq, WES/WGS, metagenomics and other sequencing datasets.
- Work with biological databases and tools for genomics, transcriptomics and molecular analysis.
- Support data preprocessing, quality control, visualization and interpretation of biological datasets.
- Use Linux, Python and/or R for bioinformatics workflows and data analysis.
- Assist in developing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines and computational workflows.
- Conduct literature and database research to support ongoing scientific projects.
- Prepare analysis reports, figures and documentation of results.
- Collaborate with bioinformaticians, data scientists and research teams.
- Opportunity to work on AI/ML applications in bioinformatics and drug discovery.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Pursuing or recently completed B.Sc./M.Sc./M.Tech./B.Tech. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Life Sciences or a related field.
- Basic understanding of molecular biology, genetics and genomics.
- Familiarity with NGS data and bioinformatics concepts is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Python or R.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix command line is an advantage.
- Knowledge of tools such as BLAST, FastQC, STAR, BWA, HISAT2, SAMtools, GATK, DESeq2 or similar is an advantage.
- Strong interest in computational biology, genomics and AI-driven life sciences.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new computational tools and scientific concepts quickly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Freshers and students looking for dissertation/internship opportunities are encouraged to apply.
