01Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP RAP Lead to drive the design and development of modern SAP applications using S/4HANA technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), CDS views, and S/4HANA development, along with proven experience in leading teams and delivering multiple end-to-end implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of ABAP developers
Define and enforce development standards and best practices
Drive adoption of RAP, CDS, and Clean Core principles
Solution Architecture &
Design
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Architect RAP-based applications (Managed &
Unmanaged scenarios)
Design CDS views, service definitions, and behavior models
Development &
Delivery
Hands-on development in ABAP, RAP, CDS, and OData services
Ensure high performance using HANA-optimized techniques
Lead development lifecycle including design, build, testing, and deployment
Project Execution
Participate in end-to-end S/4HANA implementations:
Requirement gathering
Technical design
Development & testing
Go-live and hypercare support
Quality &
Governance
Ensure adherence to ATC checks and coding standards
Conduct code reviews and performance optimization
Maintain documentation and technical specifications
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders
Provide technical insights and solution recommendations
Act as SME for RAP and modern ABAP development
Required Skills &
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in ABAP (OO ABAP mandatory)
Hands-on experience with:
RAP (ABAP RESTful Programming Model)
CDS Views (advanced concepts + annotations)
OData Services (V2/V4)
Experience in S/4HANA development
Knowledge of:
AMDP &
Code Pushdown techniques
BAdIs, Enhancements, User Exits
Fiori Elements / SAPUI5 integration
Implementation Experience
Minimum 35+ end-to-end SAP implementations
Experience across SD/MM/FI or other functional modules
Leadership Skills
Proven experience leading development teams
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to mentor and guide junior developers
Good to Have Skills
SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform)
CAP Model (Cloud Application Programming)
gCTS / DevOps exposure
Integration via REST APIs or middleware
Experience with Fiori Elements (annotation-driven UI)
Educational Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT or related field .
