Role Description This is a full-time, remote Cardio Coder role based in India, supporting SCALE Healthcares revenue cycle operations for cardiology practices. The Cardio Coder will review clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes for cardiology services in accordance with ICD-10, CPT, and payer-specific guidelines. Daily responsibilities include validating medical necessity, ensuring coding compliance, and collaborating with physicians, billers, and other team members to resolve documentation or coding discrepancies. The role involves working within multiple EHR and billing systems, monitoring coding-related denials, and contributing to process improvements that enhance reimbursement accuracy and reduce compliance risks. The Cardio Coder will also participate in ongoing education to stay current with cardiology coding updates and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
Strong cardiology coding skills, including accurate use of ICD-10 and CPT codes for diagnostic, interventional, and procedural cardiology services.Solid understanding of payer rules, medical necessity requirements, and compliance standards, including NCDs, LCDs, and documentation best practices.Experience working within EHR and billing systems, with the ability to navigate multisite workflows and reconcile coding with clinical documentation.Proficiency in reviewing clinical notes, interpreting test results and procedures, and resolving coding and documentation discrepancies with providers.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work remotely, manage time well, and coordinate with cross-functional revenue cycle teams.Relevant coding certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent; cardiology-specific training or prior cardiology coding experience is strongly preferred.Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical coding practices.Minimum of a diploma or bachelors degree in a healthcare, life sciences, or related field is preferred; experience in Indian and international healthcare billing environments is an advantage. .
