Job Description
Lead overall collections strategy aligned with financial and compliance goalsOversee denials, appeals, and follow-ups across unpaid claimsDrive reduction in AR days, bad debt, and outstanding receivablesManage payer relationships and ensure timely reimbursementsMonitor KPIs such as collection rates, denial rates, and Days UnpaidCollaborate with billing, VOB, and clinical teams across the revenue cycleEnsure compliance with HIPAA, FDCPA, and payer-specific regulationsBuild, mentor, and manage a high-performing collections teamLeverage data and analytics to drive process improvements and efficiencyProvide insights and reporting to leadership on collections performance
The Successful Applicant
10+ years of experience in healthcare collections, with leadership exposureStrong expertise in behavioral health collections and payer processesProven ability to improve AR performance and reduce outstanding receivablesDeep understanding of denials management, appeals, and insurance collectionsStrong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilityExperience with EMR/RCM systems (e.g., Kipu, Kareo, or similar)Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsStrong knowledge of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, FDCPA)
