Credit Officer

Job Summary Cherussery Finance Private Limited is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Credit Officer to evaluate loan applications, assess customer creditworthiness, verify documents, and ensure proper credit processing in accordance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Review and evaluate loan applications and supporting documents.Assess customers income, repayment capacity, financial position, and credit history.Check and analyse CIBIL/credit bureau reports.Conduct or coordinate field investigations and customer verification.Verify KYC, income, bank statements, business details, and other relevant documents.Identify credit risks, discrepancies, and potential fraud.Prepare credit appraisal reports and provide recommendations.Ensure all required documentation and approval conditions are completed before disbursement.Coordinate with Branch Managers, Relationship Managers, Field Officers, Accounts, and Collection teams.Ensure compliance with company credit policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.Monitor loan accounts and identify early warning signs of repayment issues.Maintain accurate credit records and support internal and statutory audits.Escalate policy deviations, high-risk cases, and irregularities to the concerned authority.Requirements Graduation in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.13 years of experience in credit, banking, NBFC, finance, loan processing, or a related field is preferred.Knowledge of CIBIL/credit assessment and loan documentation.Good analytical and decision-making skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Basic knowledge of MS Office and MS Excel.Strong attention to detail and verification skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.High level of integrity and confidentiality.Preferred Candidate Candidates with experience in NBFCs, banks, microfinance, or financial services, particularly in loan appraisal and credit verification, will be preferred.
