Data Engineer

As a Data Engineering Lead in our company, your role will involve owning and managing end-to-end data pipelines from source systems to Enterprise Data Warehouse (DWH) and Fabric Lakehouse / SQL DWH. Your responsibilities will include: - Ensuring robust ETL/ELT frameworks, data quality checks, reconciliation, and performance optimization. - Driving automation of daily, monthly, and regulatory MIS, including IRDA and IIB reports. - Ensuring adherence to data governance, audit, and compliance standards required for Life Insurance. - Leading design, development, and deployment of Power BI dashboards for various reporting purposes. - Implementing semantic models, optimized DAX, and reusable datasets. - Enabling one-click regulatory and management reporting and embedding dashboards across platforms. - Driving migration from legacy reporting (SSRS / Excel-based MIS) to Power BI on Fabric. - Managing and mentoring a team of MIS Developers / BI Analysts. - Planning work allocation, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring TAT, accuracy, and stability of MIS. - Acting as the single point of accountability for MIS delivery to business, compliance, and leadership stakeholders. - Coordinating with Data Engineering, Infra, Security, and Business teams. - Taking deep ownership of IRDA regulatory reporting and ensuring audit readiness, traceability, and data lineage for all regulatory submissions. - Leading modernization initiatives using Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server / Azure SQL / Fabric SQL DWH, and optimizing queries, indexing, and data models for high-volume MIS workloads. - Partnering with Infra teams to move away from monolithic reporting architectures and improve scalability. Desirable Qualifications: - Minimum 35 years in a lead or team management role. - Strong experience in Life Insurance or BFSI domain with IRDA exposure mandatory. - Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
