01Responsibilities
Administer MySQL environments (5.6/5.7/8.0) across Linux servers in dev, test, and prodMonitor replication (GTID, semi-sync), slow queries, and performance metricsPerform version upgrades, schema changes, and migrations to GCP Cloud SQL or Azure MySQL Flexible ServerAutomate health checks, backups, and monitoring tasks using Shell or Python scriptsTroubleshoot application database issues, participate in on-call rotation, and coordinate with developersSupport Tier 1 engineers with escalation handling and process documentationProvision MySQL infrastructure using Terraform or deployment pipelinesMaintain documentation: SOPs, access control, replication setups, and recovery proceduresCollaborate with ESRO teams for audit and security compliance activitiesComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do soRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field8+ years of experience as a MySQL DBA supporting production systemsExperience with MySQL replication, backup strategies (XtraBackup/Percona), and PITRCloud experience with GCP Cloud SQL, Azure MySQL Flexible Server, or AWS RDSExperience in on-call duties, release support, and Tier 1 team collaborationSolid knowledge of InnoDB engine, indexing, query optimization, and configuration tuning.Proficient in Linux OS, Shell/Python scripting, and automation practicesExposure to Terraform or similar IaC tools for provisioning and configurationFamiliarity with operational monitoring tools (Percona Toolkit, custom scripts, cloud-native tools)
