Overview
As a Data Science Director at Visa, you will play a crucial role in supporting commercial solutions partners by leveraging Visas global data assets to drive business solutions. You will be leading a team of data scientists in Bangalore office and working collaboratively with various internal teams to provide innovative solutions to our analytical partners. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities:
- Drive value from Visas global data assets to address critical questions within the Visa Commercial Solutions Team
- Act as a site leader for data scientists across different internal IA and Data Science teams, fostering team growth within Bangalore
- Share insights and best practices across groups to drive continuous improvement
- Develop metrics and dashboards to quantify current state and monitor progress across markets and segments
- Collaborate with partners across the organization to identify opportunities for Visa data-driven business solutions
- Design and implement AI and ML solutions to address stakeholders' business challenges
- Utilize forecasting models for proactive planning and monitoring program effectiveness
- Extract data-driven insights and provide actionable recommendations tailored to specific business contexts
- Apply statistical solutions to business problems and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Provide mentorship in modern analytic techniques and business applications to unlock the value of Visas unique data set
Qualifications:
- 15 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree, or 8 years with an Advanced Degree, or 3 years with a PhD
- Minimum of 12 years of analytical experience in applying solutions to business problems
- Post Graduate degree in a Quantitative field
- Hands-on experience with data analytics tools such as SAS, Hive, R, SQL, Python
- Prior experience in payments or financial services industry preferred
- Experience in predictive modeling and machine learning techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
- Good business acumen and ability to solve business problems through data-driven methodologies
- Experience in payment, retail banking, or retail merchant industries preferred
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
