Data Statistician (Machine Learning)

You will be joining the Citi Analytics & Information Management (AIM) team as an Anti Money Laundering (AML) Financial Crime Data Analytics and Intelligence (FCDAI) analyst based in Bangalore. Your main responsibility will be to connect and analyze information to create actionable intelligence for business leaders. The scope of your work will involve analyzing data related to AML transaction monitoring using advanced statistical analysis and AI techniques to identify suspicious behavior and provide insights to business partners and senior leaders.

- Apply quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods to identify suspicious customer behavior - Validate data, identify data quality issues, and work with Technology to address them - Automate data extraction and preprocessing tasks, perform adhoc data analysis, and design complex data manipulation processes - Identify data patterns & trends, provide insights for business decision-making, and document solutions in a simple manner for non-technical audience - Generate new ideas and models to improve data evaluation, question assumptions, and escalate identified risks in methodology and processes Qualifications: - 2-4 years of experience in Financial Services / Analytics Industry - Exposure to AI and Gen AI tools and techniques - Knowledge in statistical modeling, Machine learning, Agentic AI - Proficiency in Python, SQL, Hive - Masters in a numerate subject from Premier Institute or equivalent performance track record - Previous experience with financial services companies - Strong statistics and data analytics academic background - Skilled in MS Excel, VBA experience is a plus - Experience in reporting analysis results and presenting findings - Team working experience and ability to communicate with Technical Support - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work well with others and show a team-player attitude - Provide input into innovation of new approaches and proactive attitude Please note that this job description provides a high-level overview of the responsibilities.
