Role DescriptionThe Database Specialist & Technical Lead role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pune City. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database architectures that support high-availability financial applications. Day-to-day activities include overseeing database administration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and ensuring data integrity and security across environments. The Technical Lead will guide data modeling and database design, review technical solutions, and collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize database usage. The role also involves mentoring team members, enforcing best practices, supporting production incidents, and contributing to technical roadmaps and architectural decisions.
QualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.Candidates should possess expertise in Database Design and Data Modeling, with experience creating scalable schemas and optimizing data structures.Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to troubleshoot complex issues, interpret performance metrics, and support data-driven decision-making.Experience with enterprise RDBMS platforms (such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and familiarity with cloud database services is beneficial.Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and query optimization is expected.Background in financial services or fintech environments and understanding of data security and compliance standards is an advantage.Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring, technical guidance, and collaboration across cross-functional teams, is preferred.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a masters degree or ongoing advanced studies in data or computer science is beneficial. .
