Role Overview:
We are looking for a Concept Design Engineer with 26 years of experience in BIW fixture design.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in CATIA V5 and Siemens NX, with a solid understanding of automotive body shop tooling, welding fixtures, and concept development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop BIW welding and checking fixtures from concept to release.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 and NX.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, simulation, and quality.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback for optimization.
- Ensure adherence to GD&T and automotive standards.
- Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and revision control.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or equivalent.
- 26 years of hands-on experience in BIW fixture design.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 and Siemens NX (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of welding fixture concepts, clamps, locators, and pin units.
- Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing processes.
- Good communication and team collaboration skills.
