01Overview
Job Purpose
- Working end to end on the investment transactions of Sparkle Fund including Deal evaluation, financial diligence, commercial diligence, analysis of diligences conducted by lead investors, benchmarking of valuation, investment memos, etc. Investees are mainly fintech start-ups.
- Post investment monitoring of milestones, product launches, movement in valuation, development in markets, driving synergies between the business of investee with DMI group
- Supporting compliances team with respect to reporting of Investee companies as per SEBI AIF regulations and also reporting to investors of the Fund
Principal Accountabilities
- Participating in initial discussions / pitches made by the companies.
- Identifying synergies and shortlisting companies for further evaluation
- End to end deal evaluation and preparing recommendation
- Carrying out / supporting in financial diligence, commercial diligence
- Analyzing the business and business model to understand scalability, sustainability, cash burn, break even, revenue model, cost structure, current and future partnerships/client base expansion
- Identifying key issues basis, the due diligence reports and having discussions with the investee company
- Working on industry outlook, competition in market and their funding status, valuation, multiples, etc.
- Making recommendation presentation to senior management and addressing their concerns on the transaction
- Preparation of investment committee memo
- Interaction with lawyers, compliance team and operations team to ensure smooth deal closure within timelines
- Post investment monitoring including tracking the information received from the investee companies and performing actual v/s plan analysis, product launches, meeting of milestones as per agreements / presentations / discussions
- Preparation of quarterly reports prior to quarterly recaps.
- Coordinating investee companies' promotional projects within other group companies and other partners.
- Post investment supporting the senior team in bringing in value to the portfolio companies by developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, improve operations, strengthen financial controls, and increase shareholder value
Skills and Knowledge:
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualification required: Masters in in Finance or Business Administration from an A grade institution or CA
- Qualifications preferred: CA or CFA or MBA (from premier institute)
Work Experience:
- Min. 3 years of experience in a VC Fund.
- Good to have knowledge of start-up and/or Fintech space
- Commercial Diligence and Strategy Consulting experience will be an added advantage
- Experienced in handling and building financial models
- Must have handled deals end to end with minimum support from seniors
Skills :
- Understanding of financial statements and business metrics, strong analytical ability, good communication and networking skills .
