Role Overview The Engineering Manager (Divisional Lead) leads the engineering function for a division within CTS Group's Chennai production campus, where standardised and modular data centre units are engineered and manufactured. The role owns end-to-end engineering delivery for the division, translating design intent into manufacturable, quality-compliant products and ensuring production readiness. Working closely with production, quality, procurement, and project teams, the role balances technical direction with day-to-day people management to keep output on schedule and to standard. Key Responsibilities Lead the divisional engineering team responsible for the design, detailing, and production support of modular and prefabricated data center units. Translate project and design requirements into manufacturable engineering packages, drawings, and specifications for the production floor. Plan and prioritise engineering workload across the division, allocating resources to meet production schedules and delivery milestones. Coordinate with production, quality, procurement, and project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth handover from design to manufacturing. Review and approve engineering deliverables, bills of materials, and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and client requirements. Drive design-for-manufacturing improvements, standardisation, and cost optimisation across product lines. Define and track engineering KPIs, monitor progress, and report on divisional performance to senior management. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all engineering activities on the campus. Manage technical inputs from vendors and suppliers, including design reviews and specification alignment. Mentor, develop, and manage engineers within the division, building capability and consistent engineering standards. Required Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering; a Master's degree is an advantage. 10-15 years of engineering experience, including at least 3-5 years in a managerial or team leadership role. (Mandatory) Experience in manufacturing, prefabrication, modular construction, or EPC environments; exposure to data centers or mission-critical facilities is an advantage. (Mandatory) Strong understanding of design-for-manufacturing, production processes, and engineering documentation. (Mandatory) Proficiency with engineering and 3D modelling tools such as AutoCAD and Revit. (Mandatory) Working knowledge of quality systems, BOM management, and relevant international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IEC, NFPA). Proven ability to manage engineering teams, plan workload, and drive cross-functional coordination. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Availability to work on-site at the Chennai production campus. .
