01Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of sustainability and decarbonisation strategies, including emissions baselining, abatement initiatives, energy sourcing, and implementation roadmaps.
- Assess environmental sensitivities, biodiversity considerations, and regulatory constraints to support infrastructure planning and construction readiness.
- Provide environmental and sustainability inputs into transaction and bid documentation, including RFQs, RFPs, concession agreements, and responses to bidder queries.
- Advise on environmental approvals, regulatory compliance, and clearance strategies while supporting engagement with relevant statutory authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across infrastructure strategy, programme management, financial advisory, and investor engagement to integrate sustainability considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead the environment and sustainability workstream, providing technical guidance to supporting team members and ensuring high-quality project deliverables.
Your Background:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sustainability strategy, ESG advisory, or environmental consulting, preferably within the infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrated experience developing decarbonisation strategies and integrating sustainability initiatives into large-scale infrastructure or capital projects.
- Experience delivering advisory or consulting engagements across the ports, airports, or allied transport infrastructure sectors, with exposure to strategic infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, ESG frameworks, environmental clearances, and stakeholder management.
- Postgraduate degree in Engineering (Environmental specialisation) or Marine Biology is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience preparing executive-level deliverables and working with senior stakeholders.
Other Info:
- This is a full-time contractual opportunity with an initial duration of 12 months with extension based on project requirements and performance (total project duration - 21 months).
- The role requires consultants to be full-time, on-site in Chennai, Monday to Friday.
- There may be occasional travel to New Delhi based on project requirements.
- Consultants based outside Chennai are welcome to apply, with travel and accommodation support available during the engagement. (Weekend travel back to the consultant's base location can be accommodated.) .
