Overview
As a Data Migration Specialist (GIS) at Gnapi Technologies, you will be responsible for managing and executing data migration and engineering projects within the Utilities sector, particularly focusing on Telecom, Electricity, or Gas industries. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Developing comprehensive data migration strategies, including extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading (ETL) from legacy systems into new environments. You will lead data migration projects to Utility Network using tools like FME, Python/ArcPy, ModelBuilder, and ETL workflows.
- Ensuring data integrity throughout the migration process by profiling, cleansing, and validating spatial and non-spatial data. You will design data models, schemas, and validation rules for Utility Network.
- Designing, building, and optimizing ETL workflows using tools such as FME, ArcGIS Data Interoperability, or Python scripting. You will integrate ArcGIS workflows with enterprise systems like ERP/SAP, WMS, OMS/DMS/ADMS, SCADA, and CRM.
- Architecting and managing enterprise-level geodatabases (e.g., PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, Microsoft SQL Server) to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
- Coordinating with technical teams to ensure seamless integration of migrated data with new applications and services. You will drive spatial data quality improvements, governance, and transformation processes.
- Documenting implementation steps and procedures of workflows, providing training and support to teammates, and mentoring them to transfer knowledge effectively.
In addition to the technical skills required for this role, you should possess superior communication and business acumen, exceptional project management abilities, and leadership skills to lead globally distributed teams. Having familiarity with Python programming, GDAL/OGR ecosystem, ESRI and Safe Software Enterprise platforms, Cloud Environments like Azure and AWS, and relevant certifications would be advantageous.
