Job Description & Summary A career within PwC Managed Services will provide you with the opportunity to lead finance automation and process optimization initiatives at scale, enabling clients to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, accelerate financial close, and enhance operational efficiency across enterprise financial systems.
As a Manager, you will lead the Finance Automation function within the managed services delivery team supporting Bassett Health, a US-based healthcare system. You will own the end-to-end automation lifecyclefrom opportunity identification and business case development through design, build, test, deploy, and post-deployment governanceacross the Infor CloudSuite Financials (CSF) ecosystem. Your scope will include Infor IPA (Intelligent Process Automation), Infor ION workflow automation, RPA and scripting solutions, financial close automation, reporting/analytics automation, and finance process optimization across AP, AR, GL, FA, Projects, Grants, and Close Management.
This is a Managed Services engagement (not implementation or consulting). The role is a critical value driver for the engagementautomation directly contributes to PwC's ability to deliver services more efficiently, demonstrate continuous improvement to the client, and improve client satisfaction and outcomes. You will bridge the gap between finance process expertise and automation/technology enablement, ensuring that automation solutions maintain financial controls, compliance, and audit readiness while delivering measurable operational benefits.
You will work from PwC's India Acceleration Center (India AC), supporting US business hours/shifts as required, and will partner with onshore delivery teams and client stakeholders across Finance, HR/Payroll, IT, EHR, and banking teams. You will also lead and develop a team of associates/senior associates focused on automation delivery and operations.
Note to Hiring/TA team: This is a finance automation leadership rolenot a generic RPA developer role and not a pure finance operations role. The ideal candidate combines deep finance domain knowledge (understanding what should be automated and why) with hands-on automation/technology skills (knowing how to design, build, and govern automation solutions). Manager-level ownership, stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and measurable outcomes delivery are essential.
Responsibilities
As a Manager, you'll lead a team of problem solvers helping clients transform finance operations through automation and process optimization. Specific responsibilities include:
Automation Strategy, Roadmap & Pipeline Management
Own the finance automation roadmap and pipeline for the engagementidentifying, prioritizing, and sequencing automation opportunities across all finance sub-functions (AP, AR, GL, FA, Projects, Grants, Close)
Conduct current-state process analysis to identify automation candidatesmapping manual touchpoints, quantifying effort/frequency, assessing error rates, and evaluating automation feasibility
Build automation business casesquantifying effort savings, estimating ROI, projecting error reduction and cycle time improvement, and prioritizing based on impact, feasibility, and control implications
Maintain a structured automation backlog/pipeline with clear status tracking (ideation approved in-progress deployed monitored)
Identify quick wins during transition from incumbent vendorembedding automation into the steady-state operating model from the outset
Infor IPA (Intelligent Process Automation) Design & Delivery
Design and manage automated process flows within Infor IPA for finance operations:
AP automation: Invoice capture/routing, multi-level approval workflows, three-way match exception handling, payment approval triggers
GL automation: Recurring journal entry generation, template-based journal posting, allocation triggers, intercompany transaction automation
Close task orchestration: Sequential/parallel close task triggering, milestone notifications, escalation workflows, auto-assignment of close tasks
Notification & alert workflows: Threshold breach alerts, aging alerts, compliance reminders, SLA warning notifications
