Key Responsibilities
**
- **India Finance Operations (Ownership of Local Books)**
- Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including AP/AR, invoice processing, vendor payments, and credit-card reconciliations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, GL reviews, and maintain accurate books in Xero.
- Lead month-end closing activities such as journals, accruals, and intercompany adjustments.
- Support treasury management, cash-flow planning, and funds coordination.
- **Tax & Statutory Compliance (Primary Focus)**
- Handle monthly/quarterly/annual compliance tasks related to TDS, GST, Advance Tax, Labour Law, and Income Tax.
- Act as the primary liaison for the statutory audit of India financial statements.
- Prepare and maintain Transfer Pricing documentation and intercompany agreements.
- Ensure regulatory governance by maintaining compliance calendars and managing tax consultants.
- **Internal Controls, Process Improvement & Documentation**
- Strengthen internal controls across accounting, tax, and compliance workflows.
- Develop SOPs, checklists, and process documentation for India operations.
- Identify process gaps and lead improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and compliance efficiency.
- Provide payroll support as interim backup and ensure accurate documentation.
- **Group Support & Management Reporting**
- Assist with monthly management accounts, consolidation inputs, and treasury updates.
- Provide accounting support to other entities when needed.
- Support financial reviews and cross-entity reporting packs.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CMA are preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance operations, tax & compliance, and statutory governance in India.
