Job DescriptionRole : Delivery Lead ReconFunction : Application Management Services (AMS) Application ServicesLocation : ChennaiReports To : Engineering / Delivery Head, AMSExperience : 15 to 18 years, with demonstrated progression from hands-on development to delivery leadershipRole Summary : FSS is looking for a Delivery Lead to own end-to-end delivery of Reconciliation (Recon) application development and enhancements for banking and payments customers. This is a techno-functional leadership role suited to someone who has grown into delivery leadership from a strong hands-on Java development background, and who understands the realities of banking-domain delivery from having built and shipped production systems personally. Working knowledge of reconciliation applications and workflows is a strong plus.Key Responsibilities : - Own delivery of Recon application development, enhancements, and defect resolution across assigned bank/customer accounts, balancing scope, quality, and timelines.- Translate business and functional requirements from banking customers into technical design and sprint/release plans, working closely with architects and business analysts.- Provide hands-on technical direction to the development team code/design reviews, troubleshooting complex production issues, and unblocking the team on hard technical problems.- Manage the full delivery lifecycle : estimation, planning, resourcing, risk management, and stakeholder reporting (internal leadership and bank customers).- Drive engineering discipline coding standards, CI/CD practices, environment management, release governance, and documentation.- Partner with QA, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure smooth releases and stable production operations for recon systems.- Identify recurring technical and process issues and drive root-cause-based, sustainable fixes rather than short-term patches.- Mentor developers transitioning into senior/lead roles, building a pipeline of technical leadership within the team.- Contribute to proposals, effort estimates, and technical inputs for new deals or change requests involving recon capability.Required Background & Experience : - Strong core Java development background (Java, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, RDBMS, messaging/batch frameworks) someone who has personally written and owned production code, not only managed others who do.- Clear career progression from individual contributor developer to delivery/technical lead able to go deep into code when required, not purely a process manager.- Prior experience in the banking/financial services domain, ideally on systems with high transaction volumes, batch processing, or settlement-related workflows.- Proven experience leading delivery teams sprint/release planning, stakeholder communication, and team management for a team of 820 engineers.- Strong problem-solving orientation comfortable diagnosing complex, ambiguous production issues under time pressure and driving them to closure.- Experience working with banking customers or regulated financial institutions, understanding their change-management and compliance expectations.- Working knowledge of reconciliation application functionality, such as : 1. Multi-channel matching across card, ATM, instant payments (UPI/IMPS), payment gateway, and wallet transactions. 2. ATM cash tally reconciling switch, host/CBS, electronic journal, and cash-in-transit data (3-way and 4-way reconciliation). 3. NEFT/RTGS reconciliation across CBS, SFMS, NEFT, and RTGS feeds. 4. Rule-based exception and dispute management with GL tallying. 5. Scheduled batch or near-real-time reconciliation cycles across multi-currency, multi-bank scenarios.Preferred / Good to Have : - Exposure to card/payments processing systems (switching, issuance, acquiring) in addition to recon.- Familiarity with cloud-hosted deployments (AWS) and modern DevOps/CI-CD practices.- Certifications in Agile/Scrum delivery (CSM/PSM) or technical certifications relevant to Java/Spring ecosystems.Key Behavioural Competencies : - Structured problem solver breaks down ambiguous issues methodically and drives them to resolution.- Credible with both engineers and customers can go deep technically and also communicate clearly to business stakeholders.- Ownership mindset treats delivery outcomes as personally accountable rather than purely a coordination exercise.- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, close-to-the-code leadership style typical of banking-domain delivery environments.Note : This role suits a candidate who has "grown up" through development into delivery leadership, retains strong hands-on technical instincts, and brings the discipline of a hard-core banking-domain developer to how the team ships software.
