Role Overview
As the Lead Backend Developer in Foreign Exchange Technology at Deutsche Bank, you will be a key player in the Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) team, responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge technology solutions that drive the bank's success in the FX market. You will have the opportunity to work on a world-renowned platform that is a leader in electronic FX trading, collaborating with a geographically dispersed team of professionals to deliver innovative solutions. Your role will involve designing and developing new functionality on Java, contributing to the longer-term platform architectural vision, and ensuring the stability and performance of the system.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new functionality on Java, with Frontend/Full-stack development as a plus
- Collaborate with the business on quant, functional non-functional requirements, and coordinate with Business Analysts to plan and estimate delivery timelines
- Dive into the details of the FX business to become a subject matter expert
- Design and implement subsystems and intersystem protocols, driving the platform's architectural vision
- Investigate and resolve production incidents, focusing on stability and monitoring improvements
Qualifications Required
- 7+ years of experience and excellent knowledge of Java, with Kotlin/Full-stack experience considered a plus
- Proven track record in designing high-load distributed systems and fault-tolerant applications, along with strong algorithmic skills
- Good understanding of Linux, containers, and cloud solutions
- People leadership experience would be advantageous
- Familiarity with modern SDLC tools such as Git, JIRA, Artifactory, and Jenkins/TeamCity, as well as project management expertise
