01Key Responsibilities
Building and maintaining Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and maintainability
Developing custom Shopify apps using Remix, Node.js, and React (App Bridge, Polaris, app extensions)
Implementing checkout extensibility (Checkout UI extensions, Shopify Functions, post-purchase extensions)
Handling platform migrations to Shopify (from Magento, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, bespoke platforms), including data mapping, redirects, and feature parity
Conducting technical audits of existing stores, reviewing code quality, app bloat, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt
Producing clear technical documentation for internal handovers and client-facing use
Participating in code reviews, mentoring developers, and contributing to WIRO's internal development standards
Staying current with Shopify's evolving platform (Horizon, Blocks, new APIs, developer tooling)
Technical Skills:
6+ years of full stack development, with a strong focus on Shopify
Frontend proficiency: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS/SCSS, Shopify Liquid
Backend experience with Node.js, and ideally Remix for Shopify app development
Hands-on experience with Shopify CLI, Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront, GraphQL), theme customisation, app development, and store migrations
Strong Git workflow. Feature branching, pull requests, code reviews, CI/CD
Agency or multi-client experience. You are comfortable managing multiple codebases and stakeholders

Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Internship or project experience demonstrating front-end, back-end, or full stack development preferred

Hiring Process:
Initial interview with the hiring manager (15-20 min video call)
Take-home trial covering practical and theory elements relevant to the role
Final interview with the line manager, where you present your trial piece and we discuss the role in more depth .
