Role Purpose:
The Principal Consultant anchors financial strategy at Flipcarbon, builds strong relationships with senior leaders, and drives meaningful, outcome-focused CFO engagements. As a trusted advisor to founders and leadership teams, the role brings deep financial expertise and strategic clarity to every mandate. It involves guiding project teams, ensuring precision in delivery, and creating a consistently dependable client experience. The position also drives business growth by identifying new opportunities and strengthening Flipcarbons CFO consulting practice through thought leadership, robust execution, and a solutions-first approach.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Client Relationships
Work directly with founders and CXOs as a strategic finance partner.
Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders through consistent, value-driven engagement.
Understand the clients financial landscape, business model, growth plans, constraints, and risk areas.
Stakeholder management- manage the internal team (across functions) of the client, Manage statutory and Internal auditors
Hold meaningful conversations, navigate financial sensitivities with maturity, and maintain long-term credibility.
Strengthen relationships to ensure continuity of work, sustained mandate progression, and multi-year engagement
Identify relevant opportunities to expand the partnership by recommending finance, compliance, or operational projects that deliver real business value.
Own Fractional CFO Delivery Across Core Finance Pillars
Diagnosis -> design -> roll-out -> reviews -> coaching
FP&A: Budgets, forecasts, rolling plans, MIS reporting & variance review.
Cash Flow & Working Capital: Cash discipline, receivables/payables efficiency, liquidity tracking, Financials as per schedule 3 A
Controllership & Governance: Strengthening controls, hygiene, reconciliations, month-end close.
Compliance & Audit Readiness: Support statutory filings, half yearly and yearly audits and reporting, Compliance with IAS, Financials as per schedule 3 A, risk reviews.
Business Intelligence & Analytics: Dashboards, insights, financial models for decision support.
Process & Systems: ERP enhancements, workflow automation, SOP design and documentation.
Investor & Board Support: MIS packs, board materials, scenario modelling (where relevant).
Deliver with Discipline
Create timelines, manage stakeholders, and drive outcomes.
Collaborate with internal consultants, analysts, and subject matter experts.
Maintain documentation, dashboards, and ensure quality delivery.
Move projects smoothly from Diagnosis Build Operate Handover.
Solve Problems with Maturity
Bring structure to ambiguity.
Use data, judgment, and experience to craft practical solutions.
Balance founder expectations with organizational realities.

Education and Qualifications
Must Have
Qualified Chartered Accountant
Good to Have
Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA or MBA Finance
Certification in Financial Modelling, FP&A, Treasury Management, or Risk Management
Exposure to ERP systems or finance digital tools
Certification in Business Analytics, Lean Six Sigma, or Process Improvement
Experience in financial advisory, due diligence, or business consulting
Experience Required
12+ years of experience in finance consulting, advisory, or strategic CFO support roles. Experience working with founders, family businesses, or fast-growing companies is an advantage.
