Job Role: Functional QA Engineer
Experience: 3 to 6 Years
Work Location: Gurugram
Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 05:30 PM
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Functional QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of web, mobile, and API-based applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manual functional testing, API testing, database validation, defect management, and Agile methodologies. Experience with Jira for test management and defect tracking is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business and functional requirements and prepare comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
Perform end-to-end functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
Validate application functionality across web and mobile platforms.
Execute API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger.
Validate request/response payloads, authentication, status codes, and error handling.
Perform database testing by validating data integrity using SQL queries.
Verify backend data consistency between applications and databases.
Log, track, and manage defects using Jira.
Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to resolve issues.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Prepare test execution reports and provide quality metrics.

Hands-on experience with Postman, Swagger, or similar API testing tools
REST API validation
JSON/XML request and response validation
Authentication methods (Bearer Token, OAuth, Basic Authentication)
API collections and environment management
Database Testing
Strong SQL knowledge
Data validation and backend verification
Writing complex SQL queries
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ISTQB Foundation Certification is an added advantage.
Exposure to automation testing (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar) is desirable.
Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps concepts.
Experience with Git or other version control systems is a plus. .
