About the Role
We are looking for a creative and experienced Game Designer who has hands-on experience designing games and a strong understanding of animation and visual storytelling.
The ideal candidate should understand gameplay mechanics, level design, player experience, character behavior, and how animation contributes to creating engaging and immersive games. You will work closely with artists, animators, developers, and other team members to turn game concepts into enjoyable player experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop game concepts, gameplay mechanics, levels, and player experiences.
- Create game design documents, user flows, level layouts, and gameplay specifications.
- Work closely with developers, artists, and animators during game development.
- Provide creative direction for character movements, actions, transitions, and in-game animations.
- Ensure animations support gameplay mechanics and enhance the overall player experience.
- Prototype and test gameplay ideas and make improvements based on feedback.
- Balance game difficulty, progression, rewards, and player engagement.
- Review game builds and identify opportunities to improve gameplay and visual presentation.
- Stay updated with gaming trends, animation techniques, and interactive design practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in game design and game development projects.
- Strong knowledge of gameplay mechanics, level design, and player experience.
- Good understanding of 2D/3D animation principles, character animation, timing, movement, and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Understanding of game production workflows involving designers, developers, artists, and animators.
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate game ideas clearly through documentation, sketches, mock-ups, or prototypes.
- Robust attention to detail and passion for games.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on published or commercially released games.
- Knowledge of tools such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, Adobe After Effects, Spine, or similar animation/design software.
- Experience with mobile, PC, console, casual, or multiplayer games.
- Basic understanding of scripting or programming is an advantage.
- Portfolio showcasing previous game design work, prototypes, levels, animation-related work, or released games.
