Job Description

Role Overview

You will lead the end-to-end proposal process for MSS engineered solutions projects, from RFIs/RFQs/RFPs to submission and post-bid clarifications. As the gatekeeper of the pursuit process, you will ensure proactive funnel management and proper approvals prior to bid submission. Your role will involve interpreting customer specifications (technical and commercial) and defining proposal strategy in coordination with Sales, Solutions Architects, and Engineering teams. Developing customized proposals and bid packages, including technical solutions, execution strategy, commercial terms, and pricing will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will implement standardized proposal work processes in Europe for Process Gas & Liquid business and in China for both business segments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end proposal process for MSS engineered solutions projects - Interpret customer specifications and define proposal strategy - Develop customized proposals and bid packages - Implement standardized proposal work processes in Europe and China - Prepare accurate cost estimates for automation systems - Develop and maintain pricing tools, estimation models, and historical cost databases - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technically feasible and commercially sound proposals - Support Sales in customer meetings, proposal presentations, and technical discussions - Enhance proposal templates, processes, and estimation methodologies for continuous improvement - Utilize technology & AI implementation for cost reduction and improved metrics visibility - Develop succession pipeline for critical and managerial roles Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering - 15+ years of experience in proposal, estimation, or technical sales roles in the industrial automation sector - Strong technical understanding of automation and control systems - Proficiency in Excel and ERP/CRM systems - Experience with major automation platforms - Solid understanding of project lifecycle, costing, and risk management - Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commercial awareness - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - Global team leadership experience across multiple time zones and cultures Additional Details of the Company: At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
