01Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the engineering strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives
- Set clear goals and objectives for the engineering team and track progress
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends
2. Team Management:
- Hire, train, and mentor engineering staff, creating a positive and high-performing team culture
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback
- Manage and allocate resources effectively
3. Project Management:
- Oversee the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept to implementation
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Manage project risks and issues proactively
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Represent the engineering department to stakeholders, both internal and external
5. Technical Expertise:
- Possess a strong technical background and understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Be able to identify and resolve technical issues
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Generally, requires an accredited engineering degree. Incumbents have usually gained 15+ years of experience and have exhibited ability to work on increasingly more complex assignments.
- Skills in strategic planning, business planning, business development, technology program management, developing technology partnerships and building customer relations are needed.
- Excellent human relations and communications are necessary .
