IBM MQ & SFMS Technical Consultant IQ/0123
We are looking for an experienced IBM MQ & SFMS Technical Consultant with 5+ years of hands-on experience in middleware technologies, messaging platforms, and banking domain applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in IBM MQ administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and SFMS (Structured Financial Messaging System) integration/support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support IBM MQ environments across development, testing, and production environments.
- Perform installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of IBM MQ components.
- Monitor MQ queues, channels, listeners, and resolve messaging-related issues.
- Troubleshoot message flow failures, queue issues, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks.
- Support SFMS application integration, message processing, and transaction flows.
- Analyze and resolve production incidents related to MQ and SFMS interfaces.
- Work with application teams, infrastructure teams, and business users for issue resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions for recurring issues.
- Manage deployments, configuration changes, and release activities.
- Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of messaging infrastructure.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in IBM MQ administration and support.
- Strong knowledge of IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ concepts.
- Hands-on experience with MQ queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, and message handling.
- Experience in SFMS (Structured Financial Messaging System) support and integration.
- Good understanding of banking transaction messaging flows.
- Experience in troubleshooting MQ connectivity and message delivery issues.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting.
- Basic understanding of SQL/database concepts.
- Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in Banking/Financial Services domain.
- Knowledge of SWIFT/SFMS messaging standards.
- Exposure to monitoring tools and ITIL processes.
- Experience with automation and MQ scripting.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
