Clinical Documentation
Improvement /(CDI/) Collaboration/: Examine charts in real time or in the past with CDI Specialists, spotting unclear or lacking documentation and creating clear, non/-leading doctor inquiries.
CC/MCC Capturing/: To make sure the record accurately depicts the patient's actual level of illness, identify and separate Complications or Comorbidities /(CC/) and Major Complications or Comorbidities /(MCC/).
Required Skills/: Advanced ICD/-10/-CM/PCS Literacy/: Proficiency in the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting for both complex inpatient surgical procedures and inpatient diagnoses at the expert level.
DRG Grouping Engine Mastery/: In/-depth structural understanding of MS/-DRG and APR/-DRG logic, including how case/-mix indexes and final relative weights are affected by sequencing and secondary circumstances.
Clinical
Anatomy & Pathophysiology Depth/: Excellent clinical knowledge of human disease processes, pharmacology, and sophisticated surgical techniques to identify disorders that are absent or poorly documented.
Encoder Software Fluency/: Expertise with specialist hospital encoding systems, including TruCode, Optum Enterprise Encoder, and 3M 360 Encompass.
Physician Query Engineering/: The ability to create written clarification questions for attending doctors that are extremely professional, compliant, and structurally accurate.
