Role Overview
As an Assistant Manager in Global Markets IT Prime Services at BNP Paribas, your primary role is to provide a bundle of services to hedge funds and other major financial institutions. You will be responsible for utilizing a suite of applications catering to different streams such as Cash, Synthetics, Trade Processing, Margin, and Financing. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the clients can borrow securities or cash for netting purposes, ultimately allowing specific assets to achieve higher returns. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining technical debt under control and establishing a robust DEVOPS setup for the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support applications, including enhancements, bug-fixing, and mentoring.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the functional aspects of the applications.
- Report progress to the Project Manager and escalate problems to local management while suggesting solutions.
- Ensure adherence to project and organizational standards throughout the software development life-cycle.
- Administer tasks using tools like Jira for progress tracking and Wiki for documentation.
- Meet deadlines for deliverables effectively.
- Develop solutions aligned with specifications and architectural constraints, proposing approaches and providing impact analysis.
- Collaborate with production release and support teams in the context of the applications under your charge.
- Estimate work efforts and report progress accurately.
Qualifications Required
- Proficiency in Java, Spring, SQL, and Hibernate.
- Experience with Dev Ops tools such as Jenkins, Sonar, BitBucket, and Rundeck.
- Knowledge of Rest API/MicroServices.
- Good to have skills in Kafka, MQ, Python, and Redis/Oracle Coherence.
