Technical Skills:
Strong programming skills in Core Java including concurrency, collections etc.Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Spring Data)Experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven and streaming architecturesWorking knowledge of Kubernetes for container orchestration and deploymentExperience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)Experience with one or more of: DB2, Sybase, SnowflakeProficiency in Shell Scripting for automation and operational toolingVersion control with GitProficient in using IntelliJ IDEA and/or VS Code
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in Java-based backend developmentFamiliarity with REST API design and enterprise integration patternsSolid understanding of Data Modelling principlesExperience designing and enforcing data contracts between backend services and UI consumersExposure to AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, or equivalent)Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools: GitHub Copilot, Claude CodeExperience in financial services or capital markets applicationsExposure to observability tooling (logging, metrics, distributed tracing)
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software across the Prime Custody engineering stackBuild and maintain event-driven services using Kafka and cloud-native infrastructure on AWS/KubernetesContribute to data modelling and schema designManage infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle using TerraformWrite and maintain shell scripts for build automation and operational supportConduct unit testing, and root cause analysis of system issuesClearly and regularly communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions to management and peersCollaborate with experienced team members to uphold engineering standards across the SDLC .
