Java Software Developer

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions that are performant, secure, reliable, and cost-efficient. Your key responsibilities will include: - Contributing to technical specifications, solution designs, and implementation plans in collaboration with senior engineers/architects. - Refining requirements, defining technical approaches, and ensuring feasibility in collaboration with business stakeholders and developers. - Delivering changes in line with agreed scope and timelines, while effectively communicating progress and risks. - Building and maintaining integrations between systems and services, both internal and third-party/SaaS. - Creating and maintaining technical documentation such as solution notes, runbooks, and operational procedures. - Providing application management and L3 support, including owning incident/problem resolution, debugging production issues, and improving monitoring/alerting. In order to excel in this role, we expect you to have: - A Bachelor's degree in computer science or another scientific/quantitative discipline (or equivalent practical experience). - 36 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong skills in Java and building maintainable, testable services. - Hands-on experience with relational databases, SQL, AWS, and cloud infrastructure. - Experience working with business users and technical teams to solve business problems, with a continuous-improvement mindset. - Good organization skills, effective prioritization, and task management abilities. - Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. - Demonstrated experience supporting production systems and operational processes. It would be beneficial if you have experience with agile development practices, exposure to integration tools, serverless architectures, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, messaging/streaming technologies, data warehousing, AI-assisted coding tools, and familiarity with the Private Equity or broader financial services domain.
