Review systematic Anti-Money Laundering (AML) alerts generated from transaction monitoring systems and determine whether transactions pose genuine AML risks.
Perform detailed research considering various AML risk factors and indicators to decide if alerts or cases require escalation.
Conduct initial analysis of customer transactions using internal and external research tools to assess transaction plausibility and identify potential money laundering activities.
Identify suspicious or unusual transactions, non-compliant activities, or increased compliance risks.
Accurately document the rationale for alert closure or escalation as required.
Ensure timely closure of alerts that are not deemed unusual or suspicious.
Raise RFI (Request for Information) requests for alerts requiring additional information.
Determine if further enquiries are required and escalate cases appropriately for incomplete or low-quality responses.
Screening Criteria:
Candidates should have hands-on experience in:
Alert-level or case-level Transaction Monitoring investigations
Alert adjudication
RFI (Request for Information) handling
SAR Filing
CTR Exceptions (Currency Transaction Report/Cash Transaction Report)
AML investigations and regulatory compliance requirements
Experience supporting the US region will be an added advantage
Exposure to regulatory reporting and interaction with regulators is preferred
