Job Description:
Role Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Lab QC Analyst / Chemist to conduct quality control testing of AAC blocks, panels, and construction adhesives to ensure compliance with BIS standards and internal specifications. This role involves sampling, analysis, reporting, and contributing to product quality investigations and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine quality tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished AAC and adhesive products
Perform dimensional checks, compressive strength, density, moisture content, and visual inspections of AAC blocks and panels
Carry out viscosity, bonding strength, setting time, and solids content testing for adhesives
Operate laboratory equipment such as testing machines, viscometers, ovens, and other analytical tools
Maintain proper calibration and routine care of lab instruments
Record test data accurately and prepare structured lab reports
Compare results to BIS and internal standards; flag non-conformances and assist in corrective actions
Support investigations related to quality complaints or production deviations
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the laboratory
Monitor inventory of lab consumables and support timely replenishment
Assist in updating or developing standard test methods and SOPs
Adhere strictly to lab safety guidelines for chemical and equipment handling
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Diploma holders with relevant lab experience may also be considered
Basic awareness of BIS standards for AAC (IS 2185) and adhesives is preferred
Experience & Industry Background
- 13 years of experience in laboratory quality testing, preferably in building materials manufacturing
Hands-on exposure to AAC block/panel or construction adhesive testing is highly desirable .
