Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at CGI, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end testing across core banking, payments, and lending applications. Your role will involve ensuring high-quality deliverables, collaborating with stakeholders, leading testing teams, and driving continuous process improvements through metrics and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement test strategies, test plans, and governance for large-scale banking applications.
- Lead end-to-end testing across Core Banking, Payments, and Lending systems.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, developers, and vendors to ensure quality deliverables.
- Manage and mentor QA teams, ensuring adherence to testing standards and best practices.
- Oversee functional, integration, system, regression, and UAT testing cycles.
- Track, analyze, and publish test metrics, KPIs, and quality reports.
- Identify risks, defects, and bottlenecks, and drive resolution.
- Drive automation adoption and improve testing efficiency.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher
- 8+ years of experience in Software Testing/QA, with strong experience in banking domain
- Deep understanding of Core Banking, Payments (RTGS/NEFT/UPI/SWIFT), and Lending systems
- Experience in defining test architecture, strategy, and frameworks
- Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC, and Agile methodologies
- Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, ALM)
- Experience in API testing (Postman, REST services)
- Strong expertise in integration testing and end-to-end validation
- Ability to lead teams and manage stakeholders effectively
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in test automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps pipelines
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Experience in data validation and SQL queries
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in banking
- Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent
