Qualification: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Masters in SCM/Materials Management preferred.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Buyer to drive strategic procurement of cementitious materials within the central Supply Chain Management function. The role will lead end-to-end sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, and supply continuity while partnering closely with projects and key business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing and annual procurement plans, including long-term contracts.Manage the complete sourcing cycle: vendor identification, RFQs, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contracting.Conduct market research, supplier benchmarking, and price-trend analysis to support sourcing decisions.Partner with projects and internal stakeholders to ensure timely material availability and uninterrupted supply.Negotiate commercial terms and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.Monitor supplier performance and develop alternate sources to mitigate supply and business risks.Ensure adherence to procurement policies, contractual requirements, tax regulations, and audit standards.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and industry partners.Resolve supply, quality, and commercial issues effectively.Guide and mentor junior team members and contribute to SCM initiatives.
Key Skills
Strong strategic sourcing, procurement, negotiation, and contract management skills.Expertise in supplier/partner development and relationship management.Strong analytical and commercial acumen, including costing and market analysis.Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office; ability to analyze data using Power BI.Knowledge of procurement processes, best practices, tax laws, and digital procurement initiatives.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong planning, prioritization, adaptability, and attention to detail.
